10 Best Drones For Real Estate in 2022

Whether you are new to the world of drones, or a seasoned veteran of multi-rotor machines, it seems like there is always something new on the market. There are whole websites dedicated to drone reviews and comparisons to help try and weed out all of the ‘fluff’ from what’s good and what’s just plain bad. That being said, sometimes it can be overwhelming when you’re reading through reviews trying to narrow down your choices into a top 10 list that makes sense for your needs. So here goes!

1) The Parrot Bebop 2

Pros
  • Enhanced 14 megapixel fish-eye lens
  • 2700 mAh battery
  • 25 minutes of flight time
  • powerful motors
Cons
  • Requires registration with FAA

The next logical step after the immensely popular AR Drone series by Parrot, the Bebop 2 is a real powerhouse in its class. Sporting an onboard camera with a 25 minute max flight time and a 14MP camera, the Bebop 2 is a step up from all of it’s competitors. It’s true capabilities are even further enhanced by using the dedicated Sky Controller add-on which brings FPV capabilities into the mix!

The software behind it can be navigated via an incredibly simple mobile application which allows for easy picture and video downloads right from your smartphone. If you’re looking for a cheaper model without a camera, both the AR Drone 2 line and the F181 series offer great models with plastic bodies at a fraction of the price of this one, but have less options available when used to capture pictures and video.

2) DJI Air 2S

Pros
  • capable of 5.4K/30fps and 4K/60fps video
  • Above Sea Level : 5000 m
  • record up to one billion colors while retaining all the little details that make footage pop
Cons
  • Overpriced compare to other brands
  • After an update my drone became a paperweight.

This quadcopter has been flying off the shelves since it was released in March 2015. It has a ton of great features including collision detection, auto return home and a 4k camera capable of taking 12MP stills. The AIR 2S series is known for being rock-solid stable and easy to fly, but with this model DJI has introduced a new controller that looks more like an XBOX or Playstation controller which gives you access to ‘sight’ using augmented reality technology! Visual positioning has been upgraded from previous models somewhat as well, but because this edition carries such a hefty price tag we’d recommend going for one of its predecessors if you can find it at a cheaper price.

3) Parrot Disco

The Parrot Disco FPV is a fixed wing drone that is easy to fly and offers up to 45 minutes of flight time. With a top speed of 50 mph, this drone is perfect for aerial photography or racing. The included FPV goggles allow you to experience the flight in real-time. This drone also comes with a built-in GPS system that allows for autonomous flights.

Pros
  • Easy to fly
  • Long flight time
  • Long-range, with FPV goggles
Cons
  • Proprietary charger for the battery

The Disco FPV is made from durable foam and can withstand crashes. It also includes a number of safety features, such as an automatic return home function and low voltage alarm. The Disco FPV is the perfect drone for anyone looking for an easy-to-fly and fun-to-fly fixed-wing drone.

This little fella is surprisingly powerful considering how small it is! Using a unique planform shape Parrot have been able to use a ducted fan approach which dramatically increases flight time. It also gives it a really cool look as well, and is way more stable in windy conditions because of the increased wing area available. The integrated 14MP HD flight camera captures stunning pictures and 1080P video with ease – check out some samples here – and its FPV capabilities are second only to DJI’s offering!

4) DJI Phantom 4

This drone pretty much has it all – collision avoidance, autonomous flight modes, an HD camera capable of shooting 4k video from the air, not to mention being incredibly easy to fly! This one comes with a dedicated controller which now supports HDMI output so you can connect it to a monitor or TV for live viewing. If you’re looking for an all in one drone that does everything well and doesn’t require any additional purchases, then the DJI Phantom 4 is your best bet!

5) Yuneec Q500 Typhoon

Pros
  • 4K Video Capture
  • ST10+ Controller
  • Easily Shareable Footage
  • Live Map Tracking
Cons
  • No Obstacle Avoidance
  • Tricky Assembly

Another offering from the big guys at Yuneec, this drone comes with both an HD camera capable of shooting 1080P video as well as a high quality 4k camera. The extra cost for this upgrade may be hard to justify if you’re just looking for pictures or video for your real estate listings but it is nice to have the option available!

It also has a ST10+ controller that provides a live HD view of your flight and allows you to control the camera. The Steady Grip handle allows you to easily take handheld footage. Plus, the Typhoon Wizard software makes it easy to create videos and share them online. If you are looking for an impressive drone that delivers high-quality footage, the Yuneec Q500 4K Typhoon Quadcopter Drone is a great choice.

The real selling point on this quadcopter is its incredible stability in windy conditions thanks to electronic image stabilization paired with GPS and altitude sensors. If you live in areas prone to wind gusts it’s definitely worth noting that this one will perform better than other drones out there under these conditions. That’s not all though – because of its larger size, it can carry a heavier payload so you can attach accessories such as follow-me GPS trackers or additional batteries for extended flight times!

Overall, the Yuneec Q500 4K Typhoon Quadcopter Drone is a great choice for those looking for an impressive drone that delivers high-quality footage.

6) Yuneec Typhoon H

This drone was created with the intention of being an all rounder, and it does that very well. It comes with both a 4k camera and 1080P HD camera built into it’s belly which automatically swaps between them depending on how far away you are from the ground while flying, giving you better quality images while still moving. However if you’re looking to take some really impressive shots we’d recommend pairing one of these with the detachable CGO4 camera available for its bigger brother (mentioned below). This drone is very fast and agile in flight, but also has state of the art collision avoidance technology to keep you safe while flying.

7) Yuneec Typhoon H Pro

This is the big brother of the Typhoon H mentioned above, and it comes with a few added goodies to justify the increased price tag. Most notably is the CGO4 camera which is capable of capturing 4k video at 60fps and 16MP stills – making it one of the best cameras on a drone today! The Typhoon H Pro also comes with an Intel® RealSense™ Technology R200 Camera which gives it some really impressive collision avoidance capabilities. If you’re looking for a top of the line drone that can do it all, then look no further than the Yuneec Typhoon H Pro!

8) DJI Mavic Pro

This is a small but incredibly powerful drone that has been designed to be as portable as possible, making it a great option for realtors on the go! It fits comfortably inside a backpack and only weighs 1.6 pounds.

Despite its size, this little bird packs full 3 axis stabilization which keeps your footage looking smooth and clear without any jarring camera movements from sudden movements in flight. The gimbal can also be adjusted based on terrain, keeping your images level no matter what the ground beneath you looks like! This quadcopter is capable of shooting 4k video at 30fps, 1080P video at up to 96fps and 12MP stills – not too shabby! DJI have also released ActiveTrack software which allows the drone to follow moving objects such as vehicles or even people! We expect this feature to be a favorite among real estate agents.

9) DJI Phantom 4 Pro

This is another one from our friends at DJI and packed full of intelligent technology designed to make your life easier when capturing photos and video while out in the field. The brand new ActiveTrack 2.0 feature can track multiple subjects without needing any prior planning or calibration, making it great for follow-me videos of kayakers on rivers or kiteboarders on beaches! Not only that, but you can even set up automatic shots using just your voice thanks to its compatibility with Amazon Alexa! This thing is also super easy to fly, allowing beginners and experienced pilots to get great shots with ease. It shoots 4k video at up to 60fps, 1080P video at up to 120fps and 20MP stills – making it one of the best drones on the market today!

We hope you’ve found this article helpful in your search for the perfect drone for real estate photography and videography! DJI are definitely our favorite manufacturer when it comes to these kinds of products, but there are some great alternatives available from other brands that we’ve mentioned above. Whichever one you choose, make sure to practice with it a lot before using it in a professional setting – nothing ruins a good shot like a shaky camera!

Happy flying!
